Behind These Words

I would much rather sit with you one on one over tea (because coffee is gross, no offense) and exchange stories, but for now I’ll have to settle with telling you a little about myself here.

I’m Acamy (uh-kay-me) but feel free to call me Cames. It’s easier! FUN FACT: my name is Japanese and it means “beautiful sunrise”. The Japanese spelling would be “Akemi”.  I’m a 20-something from Las Vegas! I graduated from college in December of 2014 with a bachelors degree in psychology and a minor in human services. After graduating, I realized that I did not want to work in the field of psychology at all – FAIL?!

Luckily, I found my passion in creating art with meaning – art that encourages and inspires. It is so fulfilling. FUN FACT: My ultimate goal is to work on my creative business, Cames Creative full time, which will be perfect as my dream is to be a work from home mom one day. Check it out by clicking HERE!

I was married in September of 2018 to my favorite person in this world. We have been together since October of 2013 and he proposed in December of 2017, so it’s been quite a while! The adventure is one of the best I’ve ever been on. My favorite things about him are that he loves me unconditionally and that he always tries to bring out the best in me, even when I don’t see it. I’m excited for what the Lord has in store for us as our family grows.

This brings me to the most important thing about me. I love Jesus. I am thankful for all that He has done for me, though I never deserved such grace. No matter what happens in this life, I know that He is faithful and that He is good. To Him be the glory forever and ever!

These are a few of my favorite things :
tulips, rose gold, cheesecake, freshly bakes chocolate chip cookies, adventures, worship, spring, good weather, good music, a clean home, good & healthy & homemade food, surprises from my husband, spending time with people I love

These are some of my pet peeves (just for kicks because sometimes I can be a bit sassy) :

coughing/sneezing into your hand instead of the inside of your elbow (unless you’re a child, you should have learned how to do this properly), when bathrooms only have hand dryers but you still have to touch the door knob to exit (so basically what was the point of washing my hands?!), when the toilet paper is put on the roll backwards (over not under!!!) OR it’s just left on the roll empty without being changed, people licking paper products before giving it to me (no, I don’t want to touch your money with your spit all over it!!), loud chewing/smacking (it just sounds gross!)

If you do any of the above things, feel free to refrain from these actions when you’re around me, LOL! If you can relate, let me know!
